"Limescale" is a highly ambiguous and prophetic performance, staged before Volodymyr Zelensky was elected President of Ukraine and long before the full-scale war began. Yet, in this performance, Zelensky was already portrayed as "Ze-Napoleon", foreshadowing the dramatic course of history that would unfold in the years to come.
The performance was not just an artistic statement but a subconscious act of anticipation, a reflection on power, leadership, and historical cycles. What was once an abstract interpretation has now become an eerie projection—inviting audiences to reassess how art sometimes captures the essence of future events before they fully materialize.
By placing Zelensky in the role of Napoleon—a figure of both genius and controversy, revolution and empire—Limescale questioned the nature of leadership, ambition, and destiny. It examined how individuals rise to power, how they navigate crises, and how history often repeats itself in unexpected forms.
Today, in the aftermath of war and political transformation, the implications of this performance can be judged anew. What seemed speculative at the time has taken on a new depth, a new weight, and an unsettling relevance. The performance now exists as both an artistic and historical artifact, inviting reflection on the intersection of art, politics, and foresight.
