SOS Kit

"SOS Kit" is a social trigger project, highlighting the environmental and cultural degradation of Kryvyi Rih—a city shaped and scarred by the mining industry. Through sharp, exaggerated, yet painfully recognizable imagery, this project lays bare the realities that locals experience daily: an ecosystem in collapse and a cultural landscape overtaken by commercial spaces.

Once home to houses of culture, artistic hubs, and communal spaces, the city has seen these institutions replaced by supermarkets and fast-food chains. Meanwhile, industrial pollution continues to suffocate the environment, leaving residents to navigate a landscape where profit overtakes public well-being.

Rather than inventing dystopian narratives, SOS Kit simply shows what is already there, forcing the audience to confront the crisis unfolding in plain sight. The works, executed in watercolor and marker, employ satirical overtones and hyperbole, yet remain grounded in an undeniable reality. The project does not offer solutions—it provokes awareness, urging those who live in Kryvyi Rih to question, react, and perhaps reclaim their city’s future.
